These are a beautiful mix match earring set. In Puerto Rican culture, coquí represents cultural pride, resilience, fertility, and identity, famously summarized by the phrase "Soy de aquí, como el coquí”
We celebrate the rich lineage of Puerto Rican women storytellers, poets, and musicians; from traditional Bomba y Plena vocalists to modern artists—whom pass down the myths, history, and resilience of the island through generations by word of mouth.
We added the feather on one side because it holds an immense spiritual value in the indigenous Caribbean hierarchies. Although peacocks are not native to the island, the majestic feather represents freedom, higher consciousness, and the element of air. We combined it with the coqui, as it bridges the gap between the land and the sky.
On the other earring we added cowrie shell; it traditionally carries meanings of fertility, prosperity, protection, and the element of water. As well as in traditional Afro-Caribbean rituals, the shell is used as musical percussion elements or ornaments for spiritual singers.

Este es un hermoso conjunto de aretes Mix Match. En la cultura puertorriqueña, el coquí representa el orgullo cultural, la resiliencia, la fertilidad y la identidad, como lo resume la famosa frase "Soy de aquí, como el coquí". Celebramos el rico legado de las mujeres puertorriqueñas narradoras, poetisas y músicas; desde las vocalistas tradicionales de Bomba y Plena hasta las artistas modernas, quienes transmiten los mitos, la historia y la resiliencia de la isla de generación en generación de forma oral. Añadimos la pluma en un arete porque tiene un inmenso valor espiritual en las jerarquías indígenas del Caribe. Aunque los pavos reales no son nativos de la isla, la majestuosa pluma representa la libertad, la conciencia superior y el elemento aire. La combinamos con el coquí, ya que une la tierra y el cielo. En el otro arete añadimos una concha de cauri; tradicionalmente simboliza la fertilidad, la prosperidad, la protección y el elemento agua. Además de en los rituales tradicionales afro caribeños, la concha se usa como elemento de percusión musical o como adorno para los cantores espirituales.
